Kabir Raj Rana was born in India in a remote ayurvedic jungle village in the Himalayan Mountains of Northern India. This remote location of his upbringing offered limited access to western medical services causing the people of his village to depend on the use of the science of nature in maintaining good health. Unlike many in this field who have a formal education, Kabir’s education was developed as a way of life in the traditional manner. Practical experience and teachings from the elders of his community have determined his path to a healthier approach in his personal choices and his teaching techniques.

Yoga and Ayurveda come naturally to Kabir as they are a part of his culture, his heritage and who he is as a person. Recognizing the importance of western culture certifications Kabir holds Certificates of Accreditation from the Kavailyadhama Institute in Puna, India and Vivekananda VYASA Yoga Science and Research University in Bangalore, India. In addition, Kabir has apprenticed as a traditional Indian Chef with 5 star hotel resorts where he has formalized his skills of ayurveda and traditional cuisine.

Kabir’s experience with teaching Yoga and Ayurveda to western groups is now in its fourth year. His recent immigration to Canada has brought him to the front lines of the MacKinnon Cann Inn Health and Wellness Program.
